Bat Out of Hell: The Music of Meat Loaf

Crossings Event at The Zumbrota State Theatre

Meat Loaf’s music comes to life in a performance with a 17-member band led by Grant Haake.

“Bat Out of Hell” is an album that struck a nerve with listeners when it was released in 1977. It is one of the best-selling albums in the history of recorded music, having sold over 30 million copies worldwide, according to Wikipedia. Rolling Stone magazine ranked it at number 343 on its list of the 500 greatest albums of all time in 2003.

This tribute begins with performances of some of Meat Loaf’s most popular songs not on that album. Then the band – which includes a string quartet, horns and backup singers – performs “Bat Out of Hell” in its entirety.

Audiences will hear songs such as “Two Out of Three Ain’t Bad,” and “Paradise by the Dashboard Light.”

Quote from Muggsy Lauer of Collective Unconscious:

"I'm hardly what you’d call a huge Meat Loaf fan, but I find this show electrifying! A must see!"

Quote from Paul "Stretch Rocker" Diethelm:

"The musicianship, production, & attention to detail were over the top! The only thing missing was my 1974 Buick LeSabre with Bat Out Of Hell on infinite repeat in the 8 track player… and a deserted gravel road!"
