State Theatre

The State Theatre will be temporarily closed for the summer of 2024, but exciting things are happening!  The restoration of the old lobby will be done during this time. We hope to have it completed in early fall, if not it will still be functional as a venue while we complete this project.

We are working on the fall schedule.
Additional shows will be added and ticket links up soon.

8:00 PMCrossings Event at the Zumbrota State Theatre

Contemporary folk music icon Tom Chapin serves up a mix of story songs, ballads, comedic and political songs, family music, sing-alongs, old-time folk classics and a song or two of his late brother Harry's. Chapin accompanies himself on acoustic guitar, banjo and autoharp on Fri, Feb. 23 at 7:30pm at the Zumbrota State Theatre.

In a career that spans five decades, 25 recordings and three Grammy awards, the multi-talented singer-songwriter-guitarist has covered an incredible amount of creative ground. In addition to his work as a recording artist and concert performer, Chapin has acted on Broadway, as well as working extensively in television, radio and films.
As a music-maker, Chapin has maintained two long and productive parallel careers, both as a respected contemporary folk artist and as a pioneer in the field of children's music. Chapin has established a reputation for insightful, heartfelt songcraft, masterful fingerpicking, and charismatic live performance.

Chapin is also a board member of WhyHunger, the organization which Tom's older brother, the late singer-songwriter/activist Harry Chapin, founded in 1975. He also remains active in a variety of environmental causes, as well as efforts on behalf of music and the arts in our public schools.
