This original rockumentary adds vintage film clips and brief narrative to the live music performance by the band, authentically performing the music of the first three-time inductee into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and providing audiences with a number of  “I didn’t know that” moments throughout the evening. It’s a complete “blast from the past” experience!

Clapton is widely considered rock’s preeminent guitarist, one of the most important and influential of all time. His Hall of Fame honors came as a member of the Yardbirds and Cream and as a solo artist. Rolling Stone magazine placed him at number 2 on their list of the “100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time.” He’s won 18 Grammys.

Some of his best-loved songs include his version of Marley's “I Shot the Sheriff,” “Layla,” and Robert Johnson's “Crossroads.”

Justin Ploof, Jason Ploof, and Dan Ploof have many years of professional music experience and have shared the stage with the likes of Soul Asylum, Bobby Vee, Joan Jett, and Jessie Lang. Their incredible attention to detail and the quality of their musicianship wows audiences from the first chord right on through to the rousing end. Audiences hear the songs the way the artists meant for them to be performed. Guest appearances enhance the shows to the ultimate level of entertainment.

Monkees365_webCrossings brings Justin Ploof & The Throwbacks to Zumbrota's State Theatre on Saturday, November 8, at 7:30 pm with "Daydream Believers: The Story of the Monkees." Tickets are $22 in advance, $25 at the door, and can be purchased online or by calling 507-732-7616. Doors open at 6:30 pm.

This original rockumentary tribute pays homage to the imaginary band that became real: The Monkees. Blending vintage film clips with brief narration and a live music performance, Justin Ploof documents the story of four actors hired to portray a band on a TV series. The resulting success of the show led them to form an actual band that sold 65 million album worldwide. The actor/musicians fought for their artistic freedom, and in the end, emerged as a major force in American pop culture. At their peak, The Monkees outsold The Beatles and the Rolling Stones.

Audiences will witness the rise, fall and re-emergence of America’s favorite pop act!

The Throwbacks tell the story, but they also play the music with passion and authenticity. The audience will hear songs such as, “Last Train to Clarksville,” “I’m A Believer,” “Daydream Believer,” “Pleasant Valley,” and deeper cuts, too.

The Throwbacks have performed a number of wildly popular rockumentary tributes in Zumbrota. Band members believe that behind the music is a story that holds the material for a rockumentary. Justin Ploof and The Throwbacks are the original authors of the rockumentary. Their goal is to have audiences not only rock out, but to also experience a number of “I didn't know that” moments throughout the evening for a complete “blast from the past” concert experience.

Unmatched and unsurpassed, The Beatles became the greatest rock band the world has ever seen.  From 1964 to 1966 the “Lads from Liverpool” would boast 27 songs in the Top 40, with 12 of those singles reaching the top of the Billboard Charts.  They would star in two feature films, all the while conquering the hearts and radios of teenagers the world over.  From the Cavern to Candlestick Park, witness the rise and evolution of The Beatles.

The Throwbacks have previously brought the music of Creedence Clearwater Revival and Bob Dylan to Zumbrota in their rockumentary format. The core group, Justin Ploof, Jason Ploof, and Dan Ploof have a multitude of professional music experience and have shared the stage with the likes of Soul Asylum, Bobby Vee, Joan Jett, and Jessie Lang. “Dylan, Under the Covers” with Justin Ploof & the Throwbacks — October 19

Throwbacks-CCRCrossings brings "Dylan, Under the Covers" — another fabulous Rockumentary by Justin Ploof and the Throwbacks — to Zumbrota's State Theatre on Saturday, October 19, at 7:30 pm. Tickets are $22 in advance, $25 at the door, and can be purchased online or by calling 507-732-7616. Doors open at 6:30 pm.

Crossings first brought in the tribute band to perform Creedence Clearwater Revival songs last November, to a rousing response. The group presents its signature “rockumentary” show, complete with vintage footage and brief narration to accompany the music of legendary artists.

One of the most prolific songwriters in history, Dylan would craft some of the most iconic anthems of the 20th Century. From his songbook, countless groups and artists would transform one poet's vision into some of pop music's most beloved and timeless classics.

Many of Dylan’s most widely known songs date from the 1960s and seemed not only to chronicle, but sometimes presage the events of the revolutionary decade. While he performed with his strangely compelling nasal tone, many of Dylan’s songs became hits for other groups. The Throwbacks remain true to that tradition and will bring numerous guest artists onstage to perform as The Byrds, Manfred Mann, The Turtles, Johnny Cash, Peter, Paul & Mary, Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton, George Harrison and more.

The core group, Justin Ploof, Jason Ploof, and Dan Ploof, have a long history of professional music experience and have shared the stage with the likes of Soul Asylum, Bobby Vee, Joan Jett, and Jessie Lang! Their incredible attention to detail and quality of musicianship will wow audiences from the first chord. They work to emulate the songs the way the artists meant for them to be performed.
