  Ringer Star: A Ringo Starr Tribute! with Lost Faculties

  Ringer causes quite a stir wherever he appears, cheerfully being photographed with hundreds of fans, and has been referred to as the best current Ringo Starr tribute artist in the world. He has what some are saying is a "Frightening resemblance to The Man Himself" not only in looks but also as a performer, singing and playing drums. See for yourself on Sat., Sept. 29, at the State Theater. Opening at 7:30pm is The Lost Faculties, a local band performing classic rock with a touch of country and swing. Ringer’s show starts at 8pm.

  A newcomer to the scene, Ringer Star took the International Beatle Entertainment Community by storm in 2013, making his debut in the U.S., Canada, Liverpool and Brazil.

  In less than one year of traveling to Beatle events across the globe as Ringer Star, he has been asked to do several interviews on radio, television and newsprint, tape promotional videos for Beatle events and perform with, and share stages with the likes of Stan Perkins (legendary son of the late Carl Perkins), Mark Hudson (Previously a Producer for Ringo Starr), Joey Molland (Badfinger), Nube 9 (Argentina) Gavin Pring (Liverpool), Morsa (Mexico City), Hal Bruce (Canada), Hocus Pocus, (Brazil) Gary Gibson (UK), Neil Tudor (UK), The Traveling Beatleburys (Ohio),The Cavern Club Beatles (Liverpool), and even (Beach Boy) Al Jardine for a minute last February in NYC.

  Hailing from Detroit, Michigan, there was no shortage of home grown musical influences outside of the British Invasion in the 60's and 70's. Michael played drums in many local Beatle, classic rock, and original project bands. Also known by his contemporaries for having a great ear, Michael has worked in the studio with local musicians and songwriters. He has also recorded, engineered, and produced many projects for himself and others over the years, winning a “Best Recording" award at the 2008 Motor City Music Awards for co-producing a World Music CD.

  Michael has a genuine endless love and respect for music, and for all the artists who write and perform so incredibly. Opening for him at this show are The Lost Faculties. Founded in 1997, they will be familiar to any devotee of the local music scene. Band members include founding member Nathan Davidson on sax/trumpet/rhythm guitar and vocals who has taught instrumental music for over 35 years and is also a member of the Polka Dots, the Rutabaga Brothers Blues Band, and the CBB Jazz Combo. Bobbi Vogel, on lead vocals/trombone, shares her gift of music in church, weddings, and numerous community events. Geoff Forscher has been playing bass guitar for over 25 years in a variety of bands from classic rock-n-roll, funk, blues, to R&B. Lead guitarist and vocalist Daniel Grant-Smith is a veteran of many area bands, theatrical pit bands, is president of the Rochester Area Musicians Association, and also plays with the 4321 All-Stars and Doe Re and the Fae. Finally, Gary Seeman has been playing drums since the 1070’s, performing in big band, country, blues, rock, western, polka, musicals, and garage bands.
